I’m an artist living in Washington with my husband Eric and our young son Gideon and soon to be baby girl.

I have not always considered myself an artist. I started painting recreationally in college.  I focused solely on form and evoking emotion through texture and color alone. While I grew a love for exploring the creative space, I realized my abstract pieces had started to amass a following.

 

Over the next few years, while others loved my abstracts, I learned I preferred looking at and decorating my home with landscapes. I enjoyed simple color pallets and vintage feels. Thus began a five year artistic rediscovery and eventual re-branding. 

 

It's taken time, many redos, and clenched fists. I don't typically finish pieces on a whim, and I wouldn't say art is natural to me. I dwell on form and color before my brush ever hits the page.

But I love the pieces I make. I unwind in sketching and I relax at viewing my landscapes. In the Pacific Northwest we are surrounded by glorious evergreens, oak trees, and pines. I’m always chasing after that perfect shade of green that captures a cold autumn day when the sun is just barely hidden behind the clouds. My work is result of the pauses in our drives and walks to marvel at the Northwest. There is breathtaking beauty in creation--in hill crests and grey skies--that I want to capture for myself and paint for you to relish in your homes.
